We are thrilled to announce that we are playing our first show with new percussionist Klimchak this Saturday, June 19th at Kavarna with Smoke that City. ENVIE plays around 9 PM and Smoke that City headlines afterwards. More details are here.

Klimchak is a composer & performer who specializes in music for theater and dance. He is the winner of the 2009 Loridans Arts Award. Recent work includes a 2009 score for Titus Andronicus at GA Shakespeare (winner of a Suzi Award for best sound design) & a live score for Tales of Edgar Allen Poe at the Center for Puppetry Arts. Klimchak's homebuilt instruments & performances were displayed this winter in the art show Limitless at Agnes Scott College. Check out performance dates and clips at: www.myspace.com/klimchak & www.youtube.com/user/Klimchak.

While it's been seemingly quiet on the ENVIE front, there's actually been quite a lot of activity.

Progress on the record continues. We have most of the material that was written with Sean Moore and Rich Hudson recorded. We are writing a few more songs to round this group out and are hoping to have the record finished within the year or so. (We're sorry this is taking so long. Life in general and the day jobs in particular can hamper progress.)

Renee, having spent much of the first half of the year outside the country, was lucky enough to join Jarboe, formerly of The Swan's, in Leipzig, Germany last month to play venerated dark music festival (and one of the world's largest with 20,000 attendees): Wave-Gotik-Treffan. Renee is in talks with festival organizers about possibly bringing ENVIE next year so get in touch if you are interested in possibly joining us in the idyllic Saxony region next May!

She is also looking forward to making her film debut with Director/Writer/Producer and head of Supercollider Films Chad Rullman of SuperCollider films for his upcoming short film Thrall. As a director, Chad has worked with some of the most innovative and iconic names in Metal/Hard Rock such as Mastadon, Neurosis, Jarboe, Nodes of Ranvier, Nile, Soilent Green and The Agony Scene.

Allison and Keith both remain busy playing with various other projects; Keith continues his work with Mitchell Foy (both being formerly with Tenth to the Moon) and Allison can be found playing with various artists such as Attention System. Allison has also been recording with various folks and is featured on Paul Warner's new record. Check out more here: www.myspace.com/paulwarner.

ENVIE's next show is at Nophest on Saturday, July 24th at Eyedrum - ENVIE plays at 6:45 PM. We are grateful to have been part of this festival from its early days, and watching it grow has been a gratifying experience. Check out the full four-day line up here: http://nophest.com/ and much more info on Facebook.

Hope to see you Saturday!
